Giving Record
Funded Projects
When writers' words come to life in movies, books or onstage, we sense the power of language to inspire and change. That's why the Education Foundation invests in The Repertory Theater and the Dictonary Programs.
Bring the Page to Life, Sonoma County Repertory Theater
brings theater, reading, and acting to the public schools of the West County, The REP teaches hands-on theater appreciation by going directly to the schools, working with children and creating a show with them.
The Dictionary Program
This program gives beautiful dictionaries to third graders. As part of the "Read to Me" program, it awakens a love for language.
Annual Math Field Day
If 50 eight graders plant one foot toward success, how many dollars does it take to reach their goals? Children benefit from a warm appreciation of math.
Even if they don't all grow up to be whiz kids, they need numbers to thrive in business, government, education, and in their daily lives. The Sebastopol Rotary Education Foundation sponsors an annual Math Field Day: eighth graders discover math and fun in equal measure. (Founded in 1986.)
Learn to Swim
Healthy dolphins swim with confidence, grace and ease. Our Learn to Swim program teaches second-graders how to move like dolphins in the water and in life.
Opoportunies spring to life with our tutoring and mentoring program for average performing students. The goal is to increase the likelihood of college attendance.
Developed at Stanford University, this program is dedicated to developing and offering multimedia computer-based, distance-learning courses.
Funding has supported band workshops, oral history projects, musical instruments, playground equipment and computers.
